Mahama Ayariga calls for measures to protect country's coastline from decline The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahama Ayariga has called for stronger measures to protect the coastline of countries against threats such as high sea levels and erosion. Mr. Ayariga said the influx of massive floating mass of harmful seaweeds, poses danger not only to the ecosystem but the economic well being of the people. Speaking at the opening of a Three Day Integrated Coastal Zone Management meeting in Accra, Mr. Ayariga said most countries have their strategic assets along the coasts and should there be any tidal threats, development will be affected. He therefore called for pragmatic steps to reverse the trend. GBC
