The Daily Graphic calls for the celebration of Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan as a distinguished personality and one of African's most respected electoral commissioner. The Paper says his tenure as EC Chair brought changes in the conduct of elections in the country. The Paper is however, worried that his role at the commission has been called in to question by a section of the political divide and some governance experts. The Daily Graphic congratulates him for his valuable contributions to the development of the electoral system. 

The Ghanaian Times expresses worry that the department of parks and gardens has been neglected. The Paper says the importance of the state institution should not be downplayed, for the trees planted can serve as shelterbelts and windbreaks with its canopies helping to prevent soil erosion and protecting the environment. The Times is amazed that the department has only two tipper trucks and one water tanker bought in the 1980's. The Paper believes decision makers have lived abroad and most ministers have had the privilege of travelling abroad and know the importance those countries attach to their parks for recreation. The Times appeals to government to accord the department similar recognition and provide it with the resources with which to perform to beautify the cities and towns and create a serene and healthy environment for the benefit of all.

The General Telegraph is hopeful that if the war against corruption is reduced to the responsibility of individual, with the president left to carry the burden of fighting corruption on his shoulders. The Paper is worried that citizens, public officials, politicians and anti-corruption campaigners fold their arms and complain about corruption often singing out the president as the person responsible for the prevalence of official corruption. The General Telegraph urges citizens to make the effort to win the war against corruption.
