Selorm Adornu  says NHIS  is not  government social intervention policy


The Public Affairs Director of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Selorm Adornu says the scheme is not a mere government social intervention policy,  but is core and fundamental to the Ghanaian irrespective of social status, religion and creed.

Reacting to calls from churches for government to fix the challenges facing the  scheme,  Mr. Adornu , said the scheme has been running a funding gap since 2010 at a time when expenditure was high with increasing population and beneficiaries.  


Mr. Adornu said there is the need for Ghanaians to dispassionately contribute to the discussion  of  the options available to sustain the scheme. 

He spelt out some of the options being proposed by the scheme.
