Scholarship Package For Tertiary Students Of Deceased Prison Officers

The Lebanese community in Ghana has given a firm commitment to support the education of tertiary students of Prison Officers who die in the course of duty with a scholarship package. 

The initiative which has already started with the Police and Immigration services has been necessitated by the difficulties tertiary students of deceased officers go through in acquiring education. 

It is also aimed at rewarding martyrs who selflessly lay down their lives for the country. 

The Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, Ali Halabi disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service Madam Matilda Baffour Awuah in Accra.
