Court orders Ali-Gabass to open defence

The Gender Based Violence Division of the Circuit Court in Accra has dismissed a no case submission by embattled medical doctor, Sulley Ali Gabass. 

Consequently the Court presided over by Rita Agyeman Badu has asked the Senior medical officer of the Effia Nkwanta Regional hospital, to open his defence. 

The Court noted that the defence counsel was unable to discredit the evidence of the prosecution. 

It thus established a prima facie case against Dr. Gabass who will be required to narrate events as unfolded during his defence on Wednesday the 13th of this month. 

The doctor is alleged to have had unnatural carnal knowledge of the victim between October 2013 and April last year on a number of occasions at the Kasoa New Market area and Alajo when their friendship gained grounds. 

The two met on social media platform, facebook. 

The victim, a sixteen year old Senior High School student fell sick and went on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. 

He has since undergone a fistula and rectal abysces surgery and has been diagnosed HIV positive.
