Election results: Conservatives on course for majority

The Conservatives are on course to retain power in the UK with David Cameron hopeful of gaining a majority in the general election.  

Labour faces are being wiped out by the SNP in Scotland and is failing to make the gains it needs in England to stand a chance of forming a government. 

Reports say the Liberal Democras (Lib Dems) could finish with as few as 10 MPs. 

The SNP could be set to gain more than 50 %t of the vote in Scotland.  

Mr Cameron looks like he will be able to remain in Number 10 as the head of a minority government without the need for a coalition - although he might have to rely on the support of the DUP or the Lib Dems.
