University declines request by some celebrities to hold vigil of power crisis on campus Authorities at the University of Ghana have rejected the use of the school’s campus to host a vigil by some celebrities to protest the severe power crisis. The vigil which will be led by some celebrities including Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson and DKB, was to begin from the University of Ghana stadium. It is intended to put pressure on government to find solution to the power crisis now referred to as ‘Dumsor’. But the University in a statement signed by the registrar, Mercy Haizel - Ashia said it is not aware of and neither has it granted nor in the process of granting permission to any group of persons seeking to hold any such procession or vigil on or within any of its campuses. It is therefore demanding an immediate stop of all mentions of its name and campuses in relation to any such activity. GBC
