Coalition urges AG to ensure passage of RTI Bill The Convener of the Coalition on the Right to Information, Professor Kwame Karikari, has added his voice to the campaign for the passage of the Right to Information, RTI, Bill. According to him, for the past 15 years, efforts to get a law enacted to grant citizens access to information have proved futile. Speaking at a lecture to commemorate this year's World Press Freedom Day in Accra, Professor Karkari urged the opposition parties, Civil Society Organisations and the media to champion the passage of the RTI bill this year. Meanwhile, the coalition of Right To Information Bill RTI says the Committee on Constitutional, legal & Parliamentary Affairs has made proposals on the RTI Bill. Also the AG is supposed to go to Parliament and move for the second reading of the Bill. The group is therefore urging the AG to ensure that the Bill is moved in Parliament as a matter of urgency to ensure its passage to enable the media to give credible and timely information. GBC
