NHC appeals to kingmakers to use due process to resolve disputes
        

The National House of Chiefs has expressed grave concern about the recent violence relating to who is or who is not a chief. It has therefore appealed to all parties involved in such violence to use due process to resolve whatever claim they have to Stools and Skins, as the case may be. 

A statement signed by the President of the House, Naa Professor John Nabila therefore advises all kingmakers in the country to desist from practices that are likely to foment trouble and plunge the nation into turmoil. 

The House also appeals to kingmakers to follow approved processes and involved all stakeholders in the selection and enstoolement of chiefs in order to bring social harmony and move the nation forward.
 
It said chieftaincy is a revered and sanctified institution and therefore nothing should be done to tarnish its image or bring it into disrepute. 

The House also urges parties aspiring to be chiefs to respect the traditional laws, customs and processes and follow the appropriate legal steps when dissatisfied rather resorting to violence.
 
The statement urges chiefs to be circumspect, in that they cannot succeed without their subjects and that it will be difficult for them to carry out any meaningful development in their jurisdictions. 

It further called on the youth to be law abiding and desist from doing things that do not augur well for national development, and focus on their talents, since the country’s leadership position awaits them.
