Parliament approves GHc35.7m to the EC for 2015 electoral services Parliament has approved 35-point-7 million Ghana Cedis to the Electoral Commission for its services for the 2015 financial year. Presenting the report of the Special Budget Committee for the approval of the Estimates the MP for Wenchi and Ranking Member of the Committee, Prof. George Gyan-Baffour said budgetary cuts and delays in the release of funds to the EC may affect the electoral programs of the Commission and asked that steps to be taken to ensure that the EC has access to funds to undertake its programmes next year. The Majority Leader and MP for Nadowli-Kaloe Alban Bagbin said the EC sometimes in requesting money for its operations tries to bully the Finance Ministry to get whatever budget that is presented to the Ministry. This he stated should not be the case. The House also approved a little over 185 million Ghana Cedis for the services of parliament for the year ending December 2015. GBC
