Ghana to answer questions in relation to protection of women's rights at UN conference Ghana is expected to answer questions on the progress made in addressing issues relating to the protection of women, maternal mortality, human trafficking and literacy rate at the 59th session of CEDAW which is underway in Geneva. A state delegation comprising representatives from the Ministries of Health, Education, Gender, Children and Social Protection and four members of Parliament will answer about thirty questions on what the Ministry and Government are doing to better the lives of rural women and also eliminate witch camps. Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur said it is an obligation for Ghana to answer to the UN since the country is party to the UN convention. Nana Oye Lithur said the delegation is well prepared to answer questions from the 15 member UN Commission to avoid sanctions. GBC
