Parties In Rawlings, Danso-Boafo Case To Announce Terms Of Settlement

Parties in the on-going case involving former President Rawlings over the launch of a book on Ghana's transitional period that captures the reign of the former President as Head of State will soon announce their terms of settlement.

Counsel for the former President, Samuel Atta Akyea, on Monday informed the Fast Track High Court presided over by Mr Justice Mensah that his side has drafted and served same, their terms of settlement on the defendants.

Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo is however, yet to respond.

His counsel said they will at the close of work Monday, file their response and formally serve the former President.

The parties voluntarily sought to explore an out of court settlement after the former President instituted a court action against Professor Danso-Boafo restraining the ex-diplomat from launching his book “JJ Rawlings and the Democratic Transition in Ghana.”

According to the former President, the action was necessary because his approval was a pre-condition for publication.

It was to allow him to review the manuscripts in his possession and correct all inaccuracies and misinformation contained thereof.
