Regulatory Body To Oversee Building And Civil Engineering Industry Advocated

The National President of the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana, Martin Kwesi Nnuro, says the construction industry is confronted with numerous challenges. 

Principal among them is the absence of a clear regulatory body to oversee its activities which has culminated in poor workmanship, poorly trained artisans and standard materials. 

He has therefore called for the establishment of a body to enforce standards and possibly prosecute offenders to ensure that the industry is properly regulated in all facets of infrastructural development. 

Mr Nnuro stated this in a speech delivered on his behalf at the opening of a five day skills development training for members of the Upper West Regional chapter of the Association in Wa.
