Not only social media but Exam malpractices too
The use of social media is not the reason,the reason is that GES allows poor students in Primary school to go to JHS without able to read,the problem is from the mass promotion in public schools,these pupils are again helped in exam hall so students and pupils do not see the need to study hard.My district for example just try and go there during BECE and see what is hapening,there are thousands of students in SHS who can not read,how do they pass exams.some dont use social media as in whatapp,tuter,facebook etc but make calls through out the day,those in villages move from village to village attending jams.School authorities and teachers dont advice/council pupils to learn.for this problem to be solved all public JHS should make sure they admit students who can read and write into JHS form 1 ,exam malpractice must stop
