The Daily Graphic welcomes the initiative by market women to clean the markets in Accra today. The worry of the paper however is where the rubbish cleared from the markets will be dumped. The paper says the country still has enormous challenge of developing sustainable waste management system where the country will have systems like compost and recycling plants since landfill sites are totally obsolete. The Graphic therefore calls on the Local Government Ministry and the District Assemblies to urgently find a more sustainable answer to the sanitation problem. 

The Ghanaian Times is confident the government means well and has shown a lot of goodwill in addressing the concerns of POTAG. Hence, the paper urges UTAG to take advantage of the opportunity offered to have its concerns addressed. The Times believes UTAG would consider the agonizing experience and the trauma both parents and children have being through recently, as they sit to resolve their case with government today. The paper appeals to UTAG to pick a cue from POTAG and call off its strike and return to the lecture halls to enable the universities to re-open.
