NDC Sissala West Constituency Retains most of its Executives at Conference in Gwollu The Sissala West Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region has retained most of its executives at constituency’s conference held at Gwollu the district capital. The Chairman Alhaji Adamu Kabzie and the Vice Chairman Ishmael Manaf were re-elected unopposed while the incumbent Secretary Goguo Ali Adams was re-elected by polling one hundred and 54 votes to beat his only contender Seidu Jaadi who had one hundred and fifteen votes. Other executives who also retained their positions are the Constituency Organizer, Abdul-Majeed Giro and Women Organizer Alijata Alidu. Baba Osman has also been elected Constituency Youth Organizer and Sule Niarabira the Deputy Youth Organizer. The election was conducted by the Electoral Commission led by its District Director Mawule Adufutse. The MP for the Sissala West Alhaji Amidu Sulemana said the peaceful nature of the elections indicated the resolve of the constituency to move forward in unity. Alhaji Sulemani said government is working hard to address the economic challenges facing the country. The MP who is also the Regional Minister said the fall in the prices of cocoa and gold on the world market is a contributory factor to the nation’s current economic problems. A Presidential Staffer Kale Cezar said in spite of the current economic challenges, government is fulfilling its promises. He cited the on-going construction of Community Day Senior High Schools and the recently launched Youth Enterprise Support as some of the promises. The DCE for the area Moses Luri said the district will soon become the first district in the region to achieve one hundred percent coverage of electricity. This Mr Luri said will improve on economic activities which will reduce poverty in the district. GBC
