Initiative to track manufacturing and peddling of fake drugs launched

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana has stepped up efforts to rid the market of counterfeit drugs and empower the public to verify the validity of drugs they buy over the counter. 

Launching an initiative in Accra, the Director of Traditional, Pharmaceutical and Alternative Medicine at the Ministry of Health, Peter Arhin, said government welcomes the move and will further upgrade facilities of the Food and Drugs Authority to enhance their work in tracking the manufacturing and peddling of fake drugs.
