The chairman said, “Don’t be emotional. Please relax. We are not here to attack you, we are here to unravel the facts and put a system in place”. In a bid to help the former Minister of Youth and Sports to recover from the emotional expression, the chairman of the commission recalled an old television advert by Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), which featured the minister as well as the playing days of the minister at school. The close to four hour grilling saw the minister stating that, he felt horrified when the players refused to train on two occasions because their appearance fees had not arrived. Justice Dzamefe told the gathering at the sitting that, “this is not a trial. We are not attacking anyone. We just want to put place the proper system for the future. “A lot of things are wrong with the system and we want to correct them so they are not repeated in future.” He noted. The former Youth and Sports Minister is expected to appear before the Commission on Monday to continue with his presentation. Closing the sitting, Justice Dzamefe said, “You have finished with your presentation, it’s now our turn to ask you questions. So when we meet on Monday we shall do that”. SOURCE: GNA
