EPA doubts reported use of DDT by vegetable farmers Some vegetable farmers in Accra claim they use a banned substance, DDT on their farms. As Radio Ghana seeks answers on the effect of the chemical on vegetable consumers, the Deputy Director of the Chemical Control Management Centre of the E.P.A. Joseph Edmund says he does not believe the substance is being used in the country. He said after the EPA banned the chemical, it undertook mop up activities to ensure it is not in the country. Mr Edmund was quick to add that the possibility of the use of the substance cannot be ruled out, because it is being used in some parts of Africa. GBC
