Poor sanitation linked to ‘staggering’ levels of Cholera outbreak in Ghana Health officials in Ghana are blaming poor sanitation as the major cause for the ‘staggering’ levels of Cholera outbreak in the country. Reports say Cholera has killed more than 40 people in Accra since June and infected 3,100 others. Stakeholders including the media are waging a campaign to fight the disease. Following reports that some persons got infected with Cholera by eating Waakye, Radio Ghana's Rebecca Ekpe set out to gauge the minds of some citizens on the level of first, their awareness of the disease and secondly, their thoughts on one getting infected with Cholera from eating Waakye.
