Government approves construction and rehabilitation of 13 markets for AMA in Accra

Government has approved the construction and rehabilitation of 13 markets for the AMA in the Accra metropolis through Public-Private Partnership. 

The move has become necessary in view of the need for modern markets to address the problems of frequent fire outbreaks and insanitary conditions. 

This was announced by the AMA Chief Executive, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije at a meeting with the executives of market associations in Accra at the Flagstaff House. 

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur convened the meeting to deliberate with market women on ways to support the AMA to maintain proper sanitation practices
