Expert blames poor publicity and apathy for low turnout during limited voter registration The limited voter registration exercise ended on Wednesday with reports of low turnout. A lecturer at the Political Science Department of University of Ghana, Dr Seidu Alidu has been explaining to Radio Ghana some of the issues that provided tonic for the low turnout. He said issues such as low publicity and apathy led to that scenario. Dr Alidu also indicated that ensuring value for money can also whip up enthusiasm on the part of the electorate to participate in such national exercises because it is their bargaining chip. Dr Alidu proposed some measures to remedy the situation. He said education of the public should not be the sole responsibility of the Electoral Commission, but also the NCCE and the political parties who are beneficiaries of electoral activities. GBC
