Pakistan Braces for Day of Protests Pakistan’s Punjab province is bracing for a day of protests, as opposition leader Imran Khan and anti-government cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri are set to lead thousands of supporters in a march calling for the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign. Marchers are expected to depart from Lahore today which is Pakistan’s Independence Day, travelling up a main highway to the capital Islamabad, where they plan to hold a sit-in until their demands are met.
