Canada Is Willing To Help West Africa On Experimental Ebola Drugs. 

Canada says it will donate up to one thousand doses of an experimental
Ebola vaccine to help battle the disease's outbreak in West Africa. 

It comes after the WHO said it is ethical to use untested drugs on Ebola
patients. 

Canada says between 800 and one thousand doses of the
vaccine, known as VSV-EBOV, which has only been tested on animals,
will be donated to the WHO for use in West Africa. 

However, it will keep a small portion of the vaccine for research, and in case it is
needed in Canada.

The Deputy Head of Canada's Public Health Agency, Dr.
Gregory Taylor, said the Agency could be discussing options with
international partners and WHO over the coming days to try to come up
with a plan for the best use of what is a limited number of vaccine
doses. 

Dr Taylor said Canada feels this experimental vaccine is a
global resource, so in response they are sharing it with the
international community.
