Government Relies On Taxes For Development And Infrastructural Agenda. Taxes are revenue the government relies on to prosecute its development and infrastructural agenda. Elsewhere, the private sector plays a major role in providing tax revenues, which is why developed countries are able to generate more money to implement development projects. A concerned citizen Seth Osabukley talks to Radio Ghana on how the Ghana Revenue Authority can maximize taxes from private housing developers, shop operators and those in the private sector to make up needed revenue for rapid development. Mr. Osabukley shares the South African experience in the collection of revenue with Radio Ghana especially vat. He suggested the use of teller machines linked to banks in all shopping malls to ensure easy collection of vat for government.
