High Court Has Adjourned The Trail Of Alfred Agbesi Woyome. The Fast Track High Court has adjourned the trial of businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome to the 21st of this month. The adjournment is at the instance of the prosecution. Chief State Attorney, Matthew Amponsah today/yesterday informed the court that both prosecution and the defence side are yet to receive copies of the certified proceedings. He noted that the adjourned date was agreed between the two sides, as Presiding Judge, John Ajet-Nassam observed that proceedings have been ready since last Monday. Earlier, Mr. Woyome tendered in evidence, the correspondence between Dr. Kofi Amoah who was the chairman of the LOC for CAN 2008, and Yaw Osafo Marfo. The said document which had hitherto been opposed by the prosecution on grounds of authenticity, is said to have instructed Mr. Osafo Marfo to include the Shanghai group into the already ended bidding process. The court at the time upon request of the defence council directed the Ministries Of Education And Sports to collaborate their search an furnished the defense with original document. The document which has been served on the Court and defence emanated from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Mr. Woyome, who is the immediate Vice Honorary Council of Austria to Ghana, is standing trial for allegedly defrauding by false pretences and willfully causing financial loss to the state. He has denied the charges, and is on a 20 million ced bail. The adjournment is to allow the prosecution have access to the proceedings for cross examination. Source : GBC
