Essien Refused To Warm-Up Against Portugal -Appiah Coach Kwesi Appiah has confirmed that disciplinary action could be taken against AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien for refusing to warm- up with his teammates during the World Cup. Essien refused to warm-up prior to the Black Stars' final Group G match with Portugal in Brasilia on Thursday. Appiah said “I was notified by the technical team after the warm-up that Essien did not take part. I was not there during the warm-up, so It was later that I saw him when we went to the locker room. "I have included it in my report for necessary actions to be taken but unfortunately, the games finished that day but I still have included it in my report. "Essien who rescinded his decision not to play for the Black Stars after calling time on his career played once during the team's campaign in Brazil where Ghana finished at the foot of the table with only a point. The midfielder was a second half substitute in the Black Stars' opener with the USA at the Estadio das Dunas in Natal on June 16. Ghana lost the match 1-2. Source : GNA
