THE DAILY GRAPHIC:  is worried that current economic difficulties have resulted in many of the NHIS Service providers not being paid for the
services they have offered to people who visit their facilities.  It cites the Christian Health Association of Ghana which has raised the
issue of non payment by the NHIS on a number of occasions. To the
paper, the health needs of the people are key to the survival and
development of the country and everything must be done to make health care more accessible to the people.  The Graphic appeals to the Christian Health Association of Ghana to continue to dialogue with the Ministry of Heath with the view to resolving the impasse between the association and the National Health Insurance Authority. The paper also calls on the government to put on end to the erosion of the people's confidence in the scheme by paying health providers for the
services they provide to guarantee a healthy society.
 
THE GHANAIAN TIMES : add its voice to calls for the sub-regional authorities to strengthen, co-ordinate and pool resources to tackle the Ebola outbreak head-on.  It believes despite the progress made so
far in preventing the spread of the disease, countries do not have the required human resources to handle the situation.  This is the reason the epidemic is continually spreading with no resistance to it.  The
Times however appreciates the effort of WHO in providing technical assistance through its deployment of over 150 multi-disciplinary teams of experts in outbreak-response activities.  The paper however believes such assistance will be relevant to controlling the scourge
only if governments in the sub-region take the required strong political decision and commit the needed resources to the fight.
