Down Syndrome- A Genetic Defect Of Physical Abnormalities 

As Ghana joins the world in observing World Down Syndrome Day, our attention is being drawn to the need to avoid labeling persons with down syndrome as "Water Babies" or other negative stereotypes.  Medical Practitioners say Down Syndrome is a genetic defect of physical abnormalities and intellectual disability which has no cure and scientists do not know the cause either. 

Dr. Frank Siribuor a Paediatrician tells Rebecca Ekpe that there are more support systems such as special schools available to help develop the skills of children with Down Syndrome.
