Expensive political campaigns hindering women's participation in decision making Panelists at a conference on women in peace and security have identified expensive political campaigns, as the main hindrance to the active participation of women in decision making in the sub-region. The panelists from Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Sudan say most women in Africa are not economically sound and as such they are not able to come up with the finances for their campaigns.
