Ghana Joins World To Mark International Women's Day 

Ghana today joins the world to celebrate International Women’s Day, with a call for a change in cultural practices that discriminate against women. 

The International theme for the day is "A Promise is a Promise, Time to End the Violence. 

The theme restates the need to raise awareness of the plight of women and how to address it effectively. 

Women in various capacities in Society have added their voices to the call of this years theme. 

Commissioner of Police and Director General in charge of Administration, Rose Bio Atinga has asked women and men to endeavour to avoid domestic violence because it does not favour any party. 

Men and women should try at all times to encourage the practice. She was speaking to Radio Ghana to mark International Women Day. 

A Journalist and a mother, Baaba Otoo believes the celebration of international women's day is important since it boost the moral of women, encourage them and remind men to respect their wives. 

Mrs Otoo who was speaking to Radio Ghana asked women to also show love to their husbands.
