All set for 17th GJA Awards Ceremony 58 Journalists and media institutions have been shortlisted for the 17th GJA Awards ceremony which comes off in Accra on Saturday. They include, Rosemary Gaisie and Dominic Hlodze of GBC Radio, Sarah Ofori and Akua Oforiwaa Darko of GTV and Manasseh Awuni, a Freelance Journalist. Others are Moses Dotsey Aklorbortu, Doreen Hammond and Shirley Asiedu-Addo of the Daily Graphic, Dzifa Emma Tetteh and John Vigah of Ghanaian Times, and Albert Futukpor and Sepenyo Dzokoto of the Ghana News Agency. The rest are Portia Solomon of TV3, Jamila Okertchir of the Daily Guide, Michael Oti of Metro TV and Emmanuel Dogbevi of Ghana Business News. GBC and Obonu FM are also to receive institutional awards. The Chairman of the Awards Committee, Edward Ameyibor told a news conference in Accra that the shortlisted individuals and institutions were picked from a record of four hundred applicants from six regions. Stories with social impact aside from their accuracy, balance and fairness were those which were eventually selected for the awards. GBC
