Government urged farmers to practice modern forms of animal husbandry 

In response to government's desire to reduce high expenditure on the importation of livestock products, farmers have been advised to go into modern forms of animal husbandry to improve production.

The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of livestock, Dr. Alfred Sugri Tia gave the advice at the inauguration of a National Consultative Committee on Animal Genetic resource in Accra.
