Black Princesses succumb to USA, 4-0 The National Under - 20 female football team got off to a poor start in the ongoing women's FIFA World Cup in Japan. The Black Princesses this morning succumbed to the USA, losing by four goals to nil. The USA took the lead in the first half through an own goal, followed by a hat trick by Myre Hayes in the second half. The Black Princesses will have to win the remaining two group matches against China and Germany to progress to the next stage. So far, no Ghanaian female team has been able to go beyond the group stage in a World Cup tournament, and the Black Princesses are hoping to break that jinx on their second attempt. On reaching the World Cup, the Black Princesses won all their qualifying matches but the Americans proved too difficult for them. The Chinese and the Germans are equally strong opponents and the Ghanaians will have to step up their game against them, or risk being eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile, Africa's other representative Nigeria won their first match yesterday by two-nil against South Korea. GBC NEWS
