Final Burial Service For Late President Mills Begins The Presidential gun carriage casket has arrived to be laid in state at the Black Star Square for the final burial service of the late President John Evans Atta Mills to begin. His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama as well as delegates from across the world and some 16 African Heads of State have also arrived for the final burial. Many Ghanaians have gathered at the grounds of the Independence Square for the final service and the Geese Park where the late president will finally be buried. Meanwhile, huge crowd of mourners who are clad in red and black attire have occupied every space at the grounds of the black Star Square amidst chanting of songs, waving of Ghana flags and drumming and dancing. Burial service for President Mills will be officiated by the Chairman of the National Peace Council, the Most Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante. Among some Heads of State who have arrived are President of Tanzania - Jakaya Kikwete, Mahamadou Issifou of Niger, Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, Macky Sall of Senegal, Yahaya Jammeh of Gambia, President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Faure Gnassingbé of Togo, Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, Yayi Boni of Benin who is also the Chairman of AU, Alpha Condé of Guinea, and Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia. Other delegates pouring in are delegation from France representing President Francois Hollande, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from America representing President Barak Obama, Pope Benedict in the person of Cardinal Turkson and delegates from Sudan and Swaziland have paid their respect to the late president.
