No maternal death recorded in Ashanti Mampong For the first half of this year the Ashanti Mampong hospital recorded no maternal deaths. The achievement was due to dedication and continuous public education on the need for pregnant women to visit health care facilities before, during and after delivery. The Municipal Director of Health Services, Rebecca Teni Dorkurugu, said the Millennium Development Goal Five demands that maternal deaths be reduced to less than 100 per 100 thousand births by 2015.
