International community to blame for escalating conflict in Syria.

A Peace and Conflict Expert, Dr. Ken Ahorsu has blamed the International community for the escalating conflict in Syria.

He said the approach adopted by the International body in resolving the conflict can best be described as hypocrisy.

Dr. Ahorsu's comments come a day after the UN Special Envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, resigned citing finger-pointing and name-calling by the UN Security Council.

He said Mr. Annan's resignation is an indictment on the part of the International body.

Dr. Ahorsu told our correspondent that the lack of faith by the Syrian government in the International Community in resolving the conflict is likely to turn that country into a fully fledged war.
