Barbara Maria Gaisie Barbara joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, in July 1980. She is a broadcast journalist at the GTV Newsroom. Barbara is also a news presenter on GTV. In the course of her duties she had the opportunity of visiting South Africa as a guest presenter on MNET. She has also worked with RETEBRESCIA, a local television station in Brescia, Italy. Barbara's memorable moment in life was in May 2001 when she attended a CNN world reporters conference in Atlanta Georgia. She said “I was so happy when I had the opportunity of interacting with Patricia Louise Holt Edwards, widely known under the stage name Patti Labelle, a famous jazz musician in the United States; owner and founder of CNN Ted Tuner and others such as Ralitsa Vassileva and Octavia Nasr. Her saddest moment was when Princess Diana died. She said “I cried a lot because the late princess was so young and her life was cut short. I even wore a mourning dress on that day and monitored the whole burial service”. Barbara loves Reading, Listening to music and working out crossword puzzles. Barbara's role model is the late Prime Minister of India, Indira Ghandi.
