IPS now fully fledged University
Parliament has passed the University of Professional Studies Bill 2011 after being read for the third time.

The Bill is meant to transform the Institute of Professional Studies, IPS into a fully fledged University.

The new University will therefore be able to award its own degrees.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Mahama Ayariga moved for the third reading of the Bill, seconded by the Chairman of the Education Committee, Matthias Puozaa.

Mr. Puozaa, says when the President finally gives his assent to the Bill, the mandate of the IPS will be broadened.
