Agriculture And Roads To Receive Massive Development And Modernisation
Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Seth Terkpe says government will pursue an accelerated aqua culture to fill the gap of fish supply Metropolis would see massive development in road projects.

Parliament he said will continue with the completion of the job 600 project.
Presenting this year’s fiscal budget to parliament today, the Minister said government will create opportunities for access to healthcare and provide financial support for the poor to access health care.

He said the nation will also benefit from the second millennium compact after successfully managing the first compact.The Minister said this when he presented this year’s fiscal budget to parliament on Tuesday.

Touching on challenges he said government will ensure that the private sector advisory council will continue to liaise with the government to accelerate targeted investments including cost savings measures.

He said fuel allocation will be rationalised. Furthermore official vehicles will be re-named GV vehicles to ensure prudent management of resources.

According to the Minister, efforts are being made to train the youth in fisheries. He also touched on the management of national resources such as Gold, Bauxites and Manganese and exploration activities by GNPC in new oil fields.

Mr. Terkpe said the Single Spine Salary structure will remain fair. He noted that government will ensure that Single Spine will apply to all institutions.

On education, the Minister said government has allocated one hundred and 73 million Ghana Cedis to construct 50 new community day schools and 62 million Ghana Cedis for 10 colleges of educations.

Meanwhile, before the Budget Statement was read the Speaker of Parliament, Honourable Doe Adjaho introduced a visiting high powered Parliamentary Sub-committee delegation from Zanzibar to members of the House.

The delegation is in Parliament to study Ghana's Parliamentary proceedings and deepen the already cordial relations between the two countries.
