NDC founding member congratulates new Central Regional Minister
A founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Mintah has appealed to citizens of the Central Region to support the new Regional Minister, Mr E.K.T.
Addo to change the fortunes of the region.
Congratulating Mr Addo on his appointment to the position, Mr Mintah said he had confidence in Mr Addo to erase any perception people had about the region as the fourth poorest in the country.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Winneba, the NDC founding member said he did not believe that the region deserve that title, taking into account its human and natural resources that abound in the region.
He said what the region lacked was leadership and hoped the new Regional Minister would provide that leadership to change things for the better.
Mr Mintah appealed to the people of the region not to sit on the fence but contribute their quota towards the development of the area.
He urged parents to take advantage of the good educational facilities in the region and educate their children to the highest level since poverty can only be eradicated through education.
Mr Mintah commended President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Mr Addo, whom he described as an asset to the region.
He said Mr Addo had worked hard towards the building of the NDC in the region; “in fact he is the strategist of the NDC’s successes in the region.”
