Chelsea must be clinical, says Van der Plyum
The stakes are particularly high for Berekum Chelsea now as their African Champions League semi-final hopes suffered a setback on Sunday.

Chelsea were not done any favours in Group B after being held 1-1 at home by leaders Al Ahly while TP Mazembe won 2-1 against Zamalek.

Sitting third on the table with five points and being overtaken by TP Mazembe, who are two points clear of Chelsea with two matches to go seems to have turned the tide against the Ghanaian side.

But Chelsea coach, Hans Van der Plyum says his team needs to become more ruthless in front of goal as he rued the many missed opportunities against Ahly at the Accra Sports Stadium.

"We had three or four good chances we should have taken," Van der Plyum said after the match.

"In these top matches you have to take the minimum chances you get. In my opinion, Al Ahly is a very strong team and you saw the experience.

"They were very strong. I think the result is not bad but not good enough."

Chelsea will be looking at the chance of getting back in contention quickly as they prepare for their next game, away to Zamalek in their group fixture next month.

Their last trip to Cairo, in their match against Ahly ended in a 4-1 defeat but Chelsea must this time around turn the tie in their favour in another meeting which will be played behind closed doors as a result of security concerns.
