Kofi Annan expresses confidence in President Mahama's ability

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has expressed confidence in the ability of President John Dramani Mahama to effectively lead the country.

He asked Ghanaians to rally behind the President as the country prepares to bury President Atta Mills.

Mr Annan said this when he called on President Mahama at the Castle to express his condolence and to also encourage him in his new position. He pledged to make himself available anytime President Mahama needs him.

President Mahama said government will tap the rich experience of Mr Annan when the need arises.
